Education Pack

Central to the objectives of Cornwall Rivers Project is the production of an Education Pack in CD-ROM format, primarily for Key Stage 2 & 3 pupils although GCSE pupils will also benefit from the information, providing a foundation for project work. In total, 5000 packs were made and have been distributed to all primary / secondary schools in Cornwall. Further copies of the CD are still available, if you missed out, please contact us for a copy while the supplies last!

Pupils create posters illustrating how farm waste is recycled
The Education Pack contains excercises to do indoors and outdoors

The pack deals with four main issues relating to Cornish rivers:

  • Waste
  • Water Efficiency
  • Land Management
  • Fisheries

These issues define the individual content areas of the CD which are accompanied by a background section explaining the Cornwall Rivers Project, the 10 original river catchments involved in the project and the wildlife to be found in and around the county's rivers and streams. At the end of each section there are exercises which draw together the information presented. There are also opportunities for pupils to send in their work to the Trust, thereby assisting in the development of ideas to enhance Cornwall's environment for people and wildlife in the long term.
