Drawing water saving reminders

Using the annotated templates at the link below - design Water Savings Reminders to give water saving tips and encourage a reduction in water use.

1. Design a set of Water Saving Reminders using the printable templates provided - click here to open

2. The reminders should be designed to encourage water saving, using the explanation on each sheet as a guide for the picture.

3. When you have completed the reminders, your challenge is to find appropriate places to put the reminders. This could include around school or at home.

The most critical time to save water by decreasing water use is in the summer months when rainfall is low and rivers, streams, lakes and ponds are in danger of drying up. It takes approximately two years for new animals to colonise and build up their homes again after a river has dried up (Death of a River E06). The aim is therefore to reduce the water that humans require in their everyday lives so that wildlife does not suffer at this crucial time.

The natural environment has made Devon and Cornwall very attractive areas, as such the number of people staying in these counties increases tremendously over the summer months when water supply is at its most vulnerable. Between 7-8 million visitors come to Devon and Cornwall over the course of the year, a lot of these people come for their summer holidays.
